Random Wire-wrapping - Entangled Necklace

One of the things I enjoy most about jewellery creation is learning new techniques and adapting them to suit my style.

This piece, 'Entangled', was inspired by a technique perfected by well-known wire-wrapping officianado Lisa Niven Kelly.  Because I'm not very good at following step-by-step, I quickly read the tutorial and then did my thing and was thrilled with the results, particularly that this messy wrap style bezel setting totally showcases the gorgeous green Agate stone without overwhelming it, and I simply couldn't resist adding wee swarovski crystal bicones for some added 'bling'.

What's your favourite way of learning new tricks/techniques?

  2. Gorgeous, Mel! Lovely work! As for me, it sounds like we learn the same way: I often buy tutorials, only to flick through them to get the general gist, then just have a go LOL!

  4. Thanks lovelies - I really appreciate your feedback :) Being so used to more structured wire-work it was fun to 'break out' and be random!!
