Just a Minute - December

December always seems to go so ridiculously fast and before you know it we're in a new year! It's nice to reflect on what you've been up to though - so here's my 'Just a Minute' for December, don't forget to pop a comment on this post if you decide to do the same - I'd love to read yours :)

Reading..
Annabel Langbein's latest cookbook - 'The Free Range Cook' - so many recipe's appeal to me in this I'm not sure where to start .... hmmm... maybe the Summer Sangria from the Cocktails section?

Drinking..
OK, I know this could potentially make me sound really old, a little bit strange, and quite English ... but Shandy - beer and lemonade to the uninitiated, could well be the most thirst quenching drink to cope with these hot, humid days. My dad introduced me to these and he's two generations older than me and English so I figure I'm just carrying on tradition!!

Watching...

We got a new TV a few weeks ago and hooked up a new aerial ... it's really quite amazing to see what good TV reception gets you, now if I could just figure out what all the buttons on the remote do!

Loving...

Summer - beaches, sun, sand 'toast', barbeques, jandals, camping, picnics... everthing about it :)

Learning...

How to erect our tent again... we've been lucky to have the use of my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's bus over the last couple of years when we've been camping. Sadly they sold it this month so we had a trial run at putting up our tent so we didn't look like idiots at the campsite... we looked like idiots to our neighbours instead!! S'ok though, I will be numbering and sorting the poles when we pull it down so that we're all good when we go camping at the end of this week!

Planning..

A very relaxing, beach camping break... can't wait... days of watching the boys on their bodyboards, bush walks, swimming, cricket, bike rides, camp cooking, early morning bird song...

  1. I got the 'Free Range Cook' as an early Christmas prezzie from my kids, but didn't pack it. I can't wait to get home and try out some of the yummy recipes! There's nothing odd about, or better than, a shandy on a hot summers day! ;)Have a fun camping trip, I hope the weather is kind to you!

  2. Annabel Langbein has the most fabulous recipes, and no Shandy doesn't make you "old". I can only drink beer if it is mixed with lemonade. Have fun camping!!!! Happy New Year :)

  3. So nice to catch up with what you have been up to... Ben said to me he hoped I would get "that book for Christmas because the lady has an interesting program"

I keep forgetting about shandys... they are good.

I hope you have a great time at the beach and I look forward to seeing you in the new year for some more adventures. x
