This weekend saw a meeting of the Hawkes Bay Handmade group. A team of local creative people with a wide and diverse range of art and craft interests and a shared goal - promoting wonderful, hand-crafted wares to the world and supporting and following each others endeavours.
Started by several Etsy sellers, this group has now grown to incorporate members with various different sales streams - Etsy, Felt, members websites, nationwide Galleries, and local sales.
They are a truly inspirational group some with many years experience in varied craft mediums, and others of us with just a year or 3 of serious creating under our belt.
This weekend we came together to plan some very exciting events. A blog is in the design process right now with a go live date mid-June, a Facebook page has been created (I won't divulge the name till we have a bit more on there, although I notice a few of you have 'twigged' onto it already!). And an exciting road trip to Wellington to visit Craft 2.0 on 12 June (one of our members has a sales display there too).
Can't wait ...*happy dance* !! Watch this space for further developments......
It is great to be a part of this team. cheers Marie
