This poor brooch has sat in a ½ finished state for months now before I finally found time to complete it yesterday...
And while on the subject of my ability to go off on tangents and get distracted! I've just learnt how to add a signature to the bottom of my posts ... rather than reinvent the wheel and do a step-by-step myself, here is a link to a great 'how to' by Funky Junk Interiors (fab blog btw) in case you would like to know too :)
You are not alone with the UFO's Mel. I think as artists we let our immediate ideas and inspirations take over the already existing ones. I often set about to finish something and start something completely different. Right now I have about 8 UFO's sitting on my work bench and another dozen projects in my "to do" bin of beads.
ReplyDeleteHappy Creating xo
Mel , well worth the wait, it is gorgeous! UFO's I have unfinished quilts from years back that are waiting for me to quilt. I have special basket for my UFO's that seem to grow and grow! Well done on finishing, it is awesome and hey thanks for the link for the signature x
ReplyDeleteHaha, it's good to know I'm not alone Bobbie and Mel! And yes I totally agree - immediate ideas take over from existing ones with the snap of a finger!!
ReplyDeleteMy studio is strewn with UFOs. I think they are essential to the creative process - if you feel the need to finish things straight away sometimes they are not quite ready to be completed - you know? Then they kind of look 'wrong' so they need to be UFOs for a while... Those creations you have in the making are just beautiful! :)
