How AMAZING does Napier's main street look tonight ? ...
Organised by Creative Napier, Napier Inner City Marketing, and Skeinz, local knitting groups 'adopted' a palm to yarn bomb and created their own 'Tree Cosy'.
Byron and I braved the elements to run down the street capturing the amazing 'knitting graffiti' adorning the palms. It's not actually a random event as they often are, instead many knitters around the 'Bay have been clicking needles furiously to achieve this art event. Well done all the knitters involved with the 'Tree Cosies' - it looks fantastic!!
Byron's favourite? The Frogs and the 'Mixed Bag' lollies. Mine? Too hard to choose! So inspirational.
That looks amazing! I so love Yarn bombing :-)
ReplyDeleteIt does Julie. Well done to the knitters :)
ReplyDeleteJust amazing!!! I love the one with the navy sleeveless jersey carrying a cup with arms that join it. Wonderful!! (Could have climbed inside it today...)
ReplyDeleteThis is fab! I've been reading about their progress. I need a team up here to join - imagine the bombing we could do :-)
ReplyDeleteThat one is right outside a cafe Louise - very fitting :)
ReplyDeleteYou could start one Gill - what would you be called? Oh the crafty havoc you could cause!!
