Into 2011...

I had a lovely suprise in my mailbox today... my Christmas Decoration swap item from the New Zealand Handmade Christmas Ornament Swap had arrived all the way from Jackson, NJ, USA.

Handmade by Susan of 'Days too Short'. Cute huh? It will take pride of place on my tree this year.

I wanted to wait until this arrived before I shared the decoration that I made for Susan ...
It was super fun, and I look forward to participating again this year :)

And because it's 12 days into 2011, I decided I'd better get with it and purchase a 2011 diary and sketch book.
I have a real thing about NZ/Kiwiana photos - not sure why, but I just do! And I was very happy to find the same range available as I had last year... lucky thing too as my sketch notebook is nearly full.
Hmm.. I'm starting to feel organised and ready for the year ahead! My first diarised item? This weekends' Summer Silver Retreat learning lots of exciting new techniques in art clay silver and metal-smithing with Ingrid Schloemer and Charmayne. Can't wait!

  2. What gorgeous ornaments :-)
It's so satisfying when we find something like a diary or notebook that really suits us eh?
    Enjoy your retreat!

  3. Your little decoration is lovely Mel - delicate and pretty. Did you make the green "paper?" as well - I'm guessing that you used it to wrap your gift... Hope you're having a nice, relaxing Sunday.
