One question - I have been doing vk for a while and want to learn double. Is it two pieces of wire - do single and go back with a separate wire and start a couple rows down or is it the same wire and if so, how do you go back to single knit to evidentially double again?
Thanks
CarolynAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141622931272047282.post-16075048779865191702014-10-04T15:23:11.518+13:002014-10-04T15:23:11.518+13:00thanks so much for your awesome help! i have been ...thanks so much for your awesome help! i have been making wire wrap jewelry for awhile now, and wanted to try viking knit. but it seemed so over whelming. so i thought i'd do some research first. i came across your page, and it has been my " go to page " every time i need help, or get stuck. linda pawlowskinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141622931272047282.post-68120807747128459042013-04-30T15:09:20.885+12:002013-04-30T15:09:20.885+12:00That double knit tut is different than any one I h...That double knit tut is different than any one I have seen. So you go up two for one round then up one for a round, then two for a round? Interesting. I was taught you do a few rounds as single knit then go two rows up for each round until completion.
Does the knit look smooth with going from two to one? Thanks for all of your tuts! I love learning new ways of doing things.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141622931272047282.post-19127626921408251622013-04-04T14:32:26.436+13:002013-04-04T14:32:26.436+13:00Wow - looks like a lot of work but what a great re...Wow - looks like a lot of work but what a great result! It's also really interesting teaching people to do it - different tension, loop size etc give different looks. I recently showed someone how do do it in person and while shes not left handed she worked 'backwards' right to left as if she was :)Mel @ Wildflowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03470126942351062595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141622931272047282.post-31313137515437872622013-04-04T07:07:34.283+13:002013-04-04T07:07:34.283+13:00Thanks Kate :)Thanks Kate :)Mel @ Wildflowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03470126942351062595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141622931272047282.post-67490589323435616922013-04-03T21:22:19.489+13:002013-04-03T21:22:19.489+13:00This really looks so beautiful, so much detail! I loved it(my colours in your bead :D)and so did the person who bought it to give as a leaving gift for her teacher colleague. I'm not sure it made it to the colleague !!Mel @ Wildflowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03470126942351062595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141622931272047282.post-84474695643563708072013-04-02T17:25:01.602+13:002013-04-02T17:25:01.602+13:00I must give viking knit a try some time.
