Martinborough Fair Preparations are go!

Preparations for the Martinborough Fair are underway big time in my household!  If you've been to this HUGE iconic annual event which has been running for over 30 years and takes over the Martinborough township for two Saturdays - 2 Feb and 2 March, you'll know it is super busy and really quite amazing.

Ever since attending last year (my 1st time) I've been thinking about how I can optimise my stall display for easy packing in my vehicle, quick setup and eye-catching layout (although not necessarily in that order of importance!).

So over the last few days I've made some purchases - storage boxes, gazebo sides, wooden boxes for display, a new trestle table and an easel.

Aren't these wine boxes great?! Going to be fab for both travelling and display. I don't really intend using them like this (on the easel), but it's great to know I could for other events where maybe space is limited.

I'm pretty set now prop wise so it's going to be all about 'making' to have enough pieces to sell on the actual day!!

I've started with paua as below including cufflinks, earrings and necklaces, and am now moving to some gorgeous gemstones and wire work.

Have you been to the Martinborough Fair?

  2. Thank you Marie, I am now at a point where I'm really happy with my display and it's quite exciting! I will think of you at Martinborough, it was so lovely to see your smiling face there last time :)
